Davis Street Tavern

Redefining and refining the American Tavern in the heart of Old Town. "After a six-month renovation, the former bakery has been restored to show off the hulking fir beams, original brickwork and tall ceilings of the 1905 building. In front is a bar area with lounge and table seating. A short corridor links the bar to the more private dining room, ringed by an open mezzanine for overflow and parties. It feels warm and worn, accented by contemporary artwork and medieval-like chandeliers made from wine barrels.

But will they be able to fill 100 seats regularly? The neighborhood is in transition, with a new MAX line, upmarket condos in the works and the promise of an Uwajimaya supermarket. Davis Street Tavern could be a hallmark of an Old Town revival -- if it can weather the storm." - The Oregonian
