"The pop-up embodies all Nau stands for..." -Por Homme
For Here and Nau, a Christmas-season pop-up retail outlet of the fashion-driven outdoor active wear company Nau in New York’s SoHo neighborhood, Siteworks produced a project inspired by the company’s true-to-heart values of sustainability, beauty, and nature. Fixtures and wall coverings were designed in advance, but later fabricated from materials foraged from the New York City waste stream. Siteworks used recycled cardboard for temporary furnishings, foraged wood and machinery for fixtures, and other discarded and under-utilized materials for everything else—from the biggest feature to the tiniest detail. Although the intention was to return the materials back to their source upon completion of the project, many of the objects and items created for Here and Nau found their way out of the waste stream forever and are continually being used and celebrated. Here and Nau was covered extensively by press outlets, including Time Out New York and The New York Times.
“It was performance piece, or short film made up of social interaction, design process, activism, and the luck that comes with that brew.” -Jean-Pierre
