World of Speed Museum
Midcentury modern time capsule with period specific race, land speed, and muscle-cars from 1940 - 1973
World of Speed is a mid-century modern time capsule that celebrates the history and global significance of Northwest and American motorsports in a fun and educational setting for all ages. Commemorating an era of massive races, the breaking of the land-speed record, and automotive innovation—this world-class museum and event space in Wilsonville, Oregon will house more than 100 period-specific race cars, land-speed record cars, motorcycles, muscles cars, plus interactive, electronic, and sound-and-light displays to educate and inform. In transforming an 80,000 square foot former auto dealership into World of Speed, Siteworks translates the vitality of the American frontiersmen, the metaphors of acceleration, and the personal “moonshot” that defined the change-the-world ethos of post World War Two America. World of Speed is slated to open in 2014, and will attract visitors globally.
